LGBTQIA+ Fertility Acupuncture in Portland
Every family looks different, and so does every fertility journey.
Every path to parenthood deserves care built around the actual people walking it, not a version of fertility care designed for a different family and awkwardly adjusted after the fact.
Willow Tree is a proud LGBTQIA+ ally clinic. We work with same-sex couples, single parents by choice, and anyone building a family outside the heteronormative definition. That includes IUI and IVF support, donor cycle timing, reciprocal IVF, and the general reproductive health care that gets you from “we’re ready” to a healthy pregnancy.
We serve families of all kinds, including LGBTQIA+ couples, co-parents, single parents, surrogates, and all the manifestations of a family created by LOVE.
What that actually looks like in the room
You won’t have to explain your family structure before we can talk about your treatment plan. You won’t get intake forms asking for a “mother” and “father” that don’t apply to you. And you won’t get a practitioner who’s mentally recalculating standard protocols on the fly because your situation doesn’t match the default case.
We coordinate with the same reproductive endocrinologists, OB/GYNS and naturopaths, and fertility clinics that same-sex couples and LGBTQIA+ patients are already working with across Portland, so your acupuncture care fits into a plan you’ve already built, instead of asking you to explain it from scratch.
Who We Help
Lesbian and non-binary patients with ovaries: whether you’re preparing for donor sperm IUI, sharing a pregnancy with your partner through reciprocal IVF, or building your family with a surrogate.
Gay and non-binary patients with sperm: whether you’re pursuing donor egg IVF with a surrogate or sharing paternity with your partner through a donor cycle.
Trans and non-binary patients: whether you’re planning fertility preservation like egg or sperm banking, currently on hormone therapy, or navigating a path we haven’t named here yet. We tailor care to you, not a template.
Let’s meet to discuss the best fertility acupuncture treatment plan for you!
Our Comprehensive Approach
Our integrative, root-cause approach uses acupuncture, nutrition recommendations, dietary supplements, and herbal remedies to nourish your own hormones to optimize your fertility for at home conception, or increase your chances of success with IUI or IVF.
In this modern age, we are fortunate to have conventional medical diagnostic tools, scientific research, and microscopic procedures to assist reproductive medicine when necessary. Through our fertility care, we collaborate with your team of care providers to offer a comprehensive experience. We routinely collaborate with primary care physicians, OB/GYNs, naturopaths, midwives, and doulas in the Portland area. Meet our Founder
Dr. Kiné Fischler is board-certified as a Fellow of the TCM Reproductive Medicine Board (FABORM) and has spent years treating fertility patients across every kind of family-building path. The clinical approach doesn’t change based on who’s in the room. What changes is that you’re not the exception to the intake form, you’re the patient the intake form was built for.
She has 20 years of clinical experience treating fertility challenges naturally with acupuncture and customized fertility herbal medicine formulations. She is also trained in the most effective Assisted Reproductive Technology protocols and how best to integrate acupuncture to support IUI and IVF outcomes. Please read more from our esteemed colleague’s review of 1,231 IVF patient records, showing significantly improved outcomes, including a live birth rate of approximately 61.3% when whole-systems TCM was added to IVF care, compared to approximately 48.2% for IVF alone.

Best of Both Worlds for Fertility Patients
Whether you’re inseminating at home or walking into a clinic for IVF, you’re not leaving this to chance, you’re putting your heart, your body, and often a significant amount of money into making this happen with intention. We meet that with the same level of focus: bringing your cycle into its most fertile rhythm, so your body is responding at its fullest potential whatever path gets you there.
We also know this process asks a lot of you physically and emotionally: trans patients navigating hormone shifts off testosterone, and anyone facing exam after exam just to get what comes easily to others. That weight is real, and it’s part of what we’re here to hold with you, not just your hormones.
Holistic Fertility Support for LGBTQIA+ Families
Whatever path brought you here, insemination, IVF, or building your family in a way we haven’t even named yet, your odds improve when your whole system is supported, not just the procedure itself. Traditional Chinese Medicine treats fertility as a mind-body-spirit process, not an isolated event, and that individualized, holistic approach is where we do our best work alongside your medical team.
Patients who follow this kind of comprehensive plan often see results on their own. When they don’t, they walk into IUI or IVF from a stronger baseline, better regulated, better resourced, and better prepared for what their body’s being asked to do.
